Our Traditional German Bratwurst are great for the BBQ!
These sausages are made from finely minced pork in a natural casing and is grilled or fried in pan. Bratwurst are usually grilled and served with grainy Mustard, Sauerkraut, German potato salad, and a hearty rustic bread. And definitely don’t forget the beer 🙂
Wurst is the German word for sausage. And, brät means minced or finely chopped meat.
One of our Bratwurst weighs in at about 100- 120g.
Instruction for cooking: grill them over low heat and frequently spritz them water or beer to cool the skin and prevent burning. When they look done, remove them from the heat and let them rest (covered) for several minutes. The Bratwurst will continue to cook inside which will take care of any part of the sausage that is not yet fully cooked.
